The idea for a Little Mermaid dark ride isn’t new. Originally planned for Disneyland Paris and Magic Kingdom in the mid-1990s, the attraction was ultimately shelved. But its concept lived on. Disney even included a virtual ride-through of the never-built version on the 2006 DVD release of The Little Mermaid—a fascinating look at what could have been.
From Golden Dreams to Undersea Adventures
The concept came back to life as part of the expansion projects at both Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney World.
