If Walt Disney World is your “Home Park”, Disneyland’s Small World Holiday also is enough reason to make the trip to California for the holidays. As you approach the outdoor facade, you can’t help but realize something is different; it’s the huge outdoor facade, it’s the music, it’s that holiday tune, it’s the decorations even as you approach. Yes, it’s the original It’s a Small World. This is the attraction that was rebuilt in Disneyland in 1966 after being moved from The New York World Fair. That’s a story for another SamsDisneyDiary.
Disneyland’s It’s a Small World has a charm all its own all the time, not just for the holidays. It’s something you just don’t get in Florida; in fact, Disneyland’s It’s a Small World includes Disney characters! Yes, Disney characters all with that familiar Mary Blair whimsical style that perfectly matches the original theme, increasing re-rideability all year long. For the holidays, WOW!!! I mentioned the outdoor queue at night during the holiday, the clock chime turns into a project show all its own. I found myself wishing the queue was longer. Inside the attraction, where do I start? An absolutely perfect holiday overlay to a Disney classic. I can’t even begin to describe it; and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, I did my best to capture the spirit of the attraction in both audio and video format.
