Annette Funicello’s Disney Channel Tribute

Annette Funicello was featured on the 16th episode of “The Disney Family Album” and originally aired on the Disney Channel in September of 1985.

As an actress and singer, Annette Funicello began her professional career as a child performer at 12 years old.  As part of the original Mouseketeers, she rose to prominence and transitioned to a successful career as a singer with the help of a few Sherman Brother’s songs, Tall Paul and Pineapple Princess.  She went on to establish the “Beach Party” movie genre in the mid-1950s.  This episode of the Disney Family Album was released in September 1985, 7 years before she announced that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis..
