National Geographic is turning its Best of the World travel franchise into a new four-part series hosted by Antoni Porowski. Best of the World with Antoni Porowski premieres June 7 at 9/8c on National Geographic. All four episodes stream June 8 on Disney+ and Hulu.

The series visits Mexico City, Paris, New York City, and London. However, this is not just a landmark checklist. Antoni looks for the food, traditions, people, and local stories that make each city unforgettable.
Beyond the Guidebook
The hook is simple: great travel is more than seeing the famous thing. A landmark gives you the photo. A story gives you the reason to remember it. That is where Best of the World seems to fit. Each episode uses a major city as the starting point, then digs into the experiences that make the destination feel alive.
Four Cities, Four Different Travel Stories
Season one covers four global cities, but each episode has a very different rhythm.
Mexico City
The Mexico City episode opens the season on June 7. Antoni explores a city where past and present constantly overlap. The episode includes Michelin-starred cuisine, lucha libre, heirloom corn, and one of the city’s most eye-catching architectural stops: Quetzalcoatl’s Nest. Antoni also glides through the canals of Xochimilco at sunrise and joins the colorful Alebrijes Parade.

That mix gives the episode a wide view of Mexico City’s identity. It is food, art, sport, architecture, and tradition all moving at once.
Paris
The Paris episode also airs June 7 and takes a more elegant, craft-focused approach. Antoni visits Hôtel de Crillon, cycles up to Montmartre, and explores how local ingredients are reshaping French cuisine. The episode also highlights Mobilier National, where artisans preserve centuries of French furniture and decor.

Food remains part of the story through a cheese cave visit, while Moulin Rouge adds a behind-the-scenes look at Parisian costume design and stage glamour. It sounds like a Paris episode built around style, taste, and craftsmanship.
New York City
The New York City episode airs June 14 and adds a personal layer, since it is Antoni’s hometown. This episode moves from a hidden island escape near Manhattan to a tasting menu blending Polish and Japanese influences. Antoni also explores street art with a graffiti legend, visits a forward-thinking cocktail bar, and tries heritage-inspired pizza in Brooklyn.

The episode ends at the New York City Marathon finish line, where millions gather to celebrate runners from around the world.
That gives New York the right kind of energy: immigrant stories, reinvention, food, art, and one massive shared city moment.
London
The London episode also airs June 14 and leans into the city’s mix of history and modern culture. Antoni explores Brick Lane’s multicultural food scene, tries a new take on the classic Sunday roast, and gets rare access inside Big Ben’s Great Clock. He also swims in a hidden urban oasis at Canary Wharf and takes in the view from The Shard.

The episode continues through Kew Gardens and East London’s drag scene, giving London a broad range of experiences beyond the usual tourist route.
For anyone planning a London trip, this may be the episode that sends you back to your itinerary.
Sam’s Disney Diary Take
Best of the World with Antoni Porowski looks like an easy summer watch for Disney+ and Hulu viewers. The stronger angle is not the famous cities. It is how National Geographic frames them through people, food, craft, and local experience.
For Disney fans, it also adds something different to the Disney+ library. Sometimes the service is about escaping into fantasy. Other times, it is about seeing the real world with more curiosity.
And for anyone planning a future trip to Mexico City, Paris, New York, or London, it may be just enough inspiration to start a new travel list.
