The holidays are returning to Walt Disney World with festive entertainment, seasonal decorations, special events, character appearances, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
The 2026 holiday season officially begins on November 13 and continues through January 6, 2027. During that time, all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and the Disney Resort hotels will join the celebration.
Guests can expect familiar favorites, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney Jollywood Nights, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, the Merry Menagerie, and the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll. In addition, Disney has confirmed several returning shows, attraction overlays, dining experiences, and holiday character appearances.
Christmas Returns to Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom remains one of the most popular places to experience Christmas at Walt Disney World.
Main Street, U.S.A. will once again be decorated with garlands, wreaths, lights, and the park’s towering Christmas tree. Cinderella Castle and the surrounding lands will also offer plenty of holiday photo opportunities.
“Frozen Holiday Surprise” returns to Cinderella Castle during the 2026 season. The show features Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and more than 100 snowgies.
During the show, Olaf and the snowgies decorate the castle with garlands, ornaments, and wreaths. Elsa then uses her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into a glowing ice palace. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will also continue during the holiday season. The nighttime parade is scheduled to run twice each night on regular operating evenings.
However, Disney Starlight will not be presented during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Party guests will instead see Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.
Jingle Cruise Returns for 2026
The Jungle Cruise will once again receive its seasonal transformation into the Jingle Cruise.
The attraction keeps its familiar river adventure while adding Christmas decorations, holiday-themed jokes, and plenty of new puns from the skippers.
The seasonal details begin inside the queue. Guests will find that the Jungle Navigation Company skippers have added lights, decorations, and other festive touches throughout the loading area.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom on select nights. The separately ticketed event includes holiday entertainment, attraction overlays, complimentary treats, character appearances, and seasonal fireworks.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is also one of the party’s biggest highlights. The parade features Disney characters, toy soldiers, gingerbread performers, and Santa Claus.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will run from November 27 through December 30, 2026.
The festival is included with regular EPCOT admission. It celebrates holiday traditions, music, storytelling, and seasonal flavors from around the world. Guests can explore the park’s Holiday Kitchens while enjoying live entertainment throughout World Showcase.
Additional details about the Candlelight Processional, celebrity narrators, menus, and entertainment schedules will be announced later.
Because the festival begins two weeks after the wider Walt Disney World holiday season, guests visiting earlier in November should check the official calendar before making plans.
Holiday Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will once again celebrate the season with vintage decorations, festive music, character appearances, and returning nighttime entertainment.
Sunset Seasons Greetings transforms the Hollywood Tower Hotel with colorful projections inspired by several Disney favorites.
A Holiday Finale for Frozen Sing-Along
“For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” will receive its seasonal finale. The show follows the Royal Historians of Arendelle as they share the story of Frozen. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf also join the celebration. During the holiday season, the performance concludes with additional seasonal music, snowfall, and a festive appearance by Olaf.
Characters and Dining at Hollywood Studios
Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear will appear in holiday outfits inside Toy Story Land. The land will also feature oversized decorations inspired by the toys and objects found in Andy’s backyard.
Meanwhile, Minnie’s Holiday Dine returns to Hollywood & Vine. The character meal features Minnie Mouse and her friends dressed for the season.
The buffet is expected to include carved meats, seafood, plant-based selections, and seasonal desserts. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Merry Menagerie Returns to Animal Kingdom
The Merry Menagerie returns to Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The experience features artisan-created puppets inspired by winter animals. Guests may encounter penguins, reindeer, foxes, polar bears, and other creatures.
The puppets interact with guests throughout the area, creating one of the most charming holiday experiences at Walt Disney World.
Original Disney artwork from artist Rob Kaz will also be available at Island Mercantile. Kaz is scheduled to meet guests at the location from November 1 through November 22.
Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll
Disney Springs will once again become a major destination for holiday shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll returns with themed trees inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars stories.
Rather than placing the trees in one location, Disney spreads them throughout Disney Springs. That allows guests to discover them while shopping or dining. The Toy Story-inspired tree is among the confirmed returning designs.
Guests can also experience nightly snowfall in Town Center. In addition, roaming performers and live musicians will appear on select evenings.
Walt Disney World Holiday Discounts
Disney has also announced several resort offers covering parts of the 2026 holiday season.
Eligible Disney+ subscribers enrolled in Disney+ Perks may receive a free Park Hopper add-on and save up to 25% on rooms when purchasing a four-night, four-day room-and-ticket package.
Eligible dates include:
- September 25 through October 8
- October 19 through October 31
- November 15 through November 28
- December 13 through December 24
Guests may also save up to 20% on select Disney Resort rooms for stays from October 4 through December 24.
Florida residents can save up to 25% during select dates. Meanwhile, Annual Passholders can save up to 30% on select rooms from October 4 through December 24. Availability is limited, and restrictions apply.
Planning for the 2026 Holiday Season
The Walt Disney World holiday season begins November 13, but not every experience starts on that date. For example, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins November 27. Separately ticketed events will also operate only on select nights.
The season offers something across nearly every part of Walt Disney World. Guests can explore international traditions at EPCOT, see snow fall at Disney Springs, enjoy the Merry Menagerie, or watch Cinderella Castle receive a Frozen transformation.
