As we head toward the fall season, this is a great time to catch up on Descendants: Wicked Wonderland if you have not watched it yet. The latest chapter in the fan-favorite Descendants franchise. That means Red, Chloe, Wonderland, and a whole new generation of Disney heroes and villains are now ready to stream.
Wonderland has changed. After the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red, Red and Chloe are living in a new reality. The Queen of Hearts is kind. Cinderella is safe. Everything should be perfect.
Of course, this is Descendants.
Changing the past created a new problem: Maddox Hatter. When Maddox captures the Queen of Hearts, Red and Chloe must work with new allies to save her and Wonderland.
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland premiered July 16, 2026, on Disney Channel and began streaming July 17 on Disney+. Disney+ Press describes it as the fifth installment in the Descendants franchise and confirms the return of Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Rita Ora, and Brandy, along with several new characters tied to Wonderland, Encanto, and classic Disney villains.
Before watching, here is a quick guide to the new and returning characters.
Red — Kylie Cantrall
Red is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts and one of the central characters returning from The Rise of Red. In Wicked Wonderland, Red is facing a very different life. Her mother is no longer the villainous Queen of Hearts fans met before. Wonderland has changed, and Red now has a younger sister named Pink. That makes Red more than a rebel princess. She helped change the past. Now she has to deal with what that change created.
Chloe — Malia Baker
Chloe is the daughter of Cinderella and King Charming. She returns as Red’s closest partner in the story, navigating the new reality created after their time-travel adventure. Chloe brings the classic “good kid” perspective into a story where happily ever after is not as simple as it looks. That is what makes her important. Chloe is not just reacting to Wonderland. She is part of the reason this version of Wonderland exists.
Max Hatter — Brendon Tremblay
Max is Maddox Hatter’s son and the grandson of the Mad Hatter. That gives him a direct connection to Wonderland’s chaos. His father is the new threat, which puts Max in a complicated position right away. Is he part of the problem, part of the solution, or stuck somewhere in between? That tension makes Max one of the more interesting new characters to watch.
Pink — Liamani Segura
Pink is one of the biggest new additions. She is Red’s kindhearted younger sister and the daughter of the Queen of Hearts in this changed timeline. D23 describes Pink as Red’s new sister, making her living proof that Red and Chloe’s time-travel choices had real consequences. That instantly makes Pink more than a cute new character. She represents the new reality.
Cinderella — Brandy
Brandy returns as Cinderella, Chloe’s mother and King Charming’s wife. Cinderella being safe is one of the biggest results of the changed timeline. Her presence connects Wicked Wonderland directly back to the emotional stakes of The Rise of Red. She also gives the story one of its strongest classic Disney connections.
Queen of Hearts — Rita Ora
The Queen of Hearts returns, but not as the ruler fans remember. In Wicked Wonderland, she is kind, loving, and the mother of both Red and Pink. That change is central to the story because Red and Chloe’s actions helped create a better version of her. But in true Descendants fashion, fixing one problem creates another. The Queen may be nice now, but Wonderland is still in danger.
Luis Madrigal — Alexandro Byrd
Luis Madrigal is the son of Luisa Madrigal from Disney’s Encanto. That makes him one of the most interesting new additions because he expands the Descendants universe into another modern Disney family. Disney describes Luis as a strong, dynamic “hero kid,” which fits his Madrigal connection. His arrival shows how Descendants can keep growing by pulling from more corners of Disney animation.
Hazel Hook — Kiara Romero
Hazel Hook is the daughter of Captain Hook. D23 describes her as a hazardous and cunning villain kid, which makes her another new character to watch. The Hook family has always fit naturally into the Descendants world. Hazel brings that pirate connection into the Wonderland story.
More New Descendants
The larger Wicked Wonderland cast also includes Robbie Hood, Felix Facilier, Squirmy Smee, Squeaky Smee, and Chessy the Cat. Disney+ Press lists new cast members Joel Oulette, Zavien Garrett, Ryan McEwen, Dayton Paradis, and Awkwafina alongside the main new character lineup.
That is a lot of new Disney family tree branches.
